Manitoba Hal is a multi-instrumentalist, with a passion for the ukulele. They also make cigar-box guitars and take joy both in creating with their hands as well as being an educator of music. Their latest album is Vintage Blend, that reimagines and rearranges numbers across their musical life with unique instruments and fresh ears for the new recordings. Hal spoke to radionotes' John Murch from their home - when they're not touring - of Shelburne.

From the Archives (December, 2013) they're also our feature guest for this episode of radionotes, where they covered a lot of ground with John Murch - including their ability and abundant passion to fly.
In 2019, Horne released their latest book The Art of Witch (Rockpool Publishing) and did what is believed to be the last tour of her band in Australia.

Berdnturtle are a Trio from Athens, Greece who have a debut release called Ambush. Their record crosses psypop, indie with waves of the alternative sounds of the 80s and 90s while bathing in the musical depths of Ride and My Bloody Valentine in fine measure. Across Skype, two-thirds of the band - Yannis Michos (Bass/Vocals) and Vasilis Sukos (Drums) - joined John Murch of radionotes to be this episode's feature guests.

The Letter String Quartet have released a title track from their debut album All The Stories (to be released 2020) that features Marita Dyson (The Orbweavers). The album will feature a Song Cycle with lyrics by poet Maria Zajkowski - in response to Abbotsford Convent historical site in Melbourne, Australia. The group are a collective of multi-instrumentalists, composers and sound designers who have been invited to perform with the likes of Laura Jean, Gang of Youths, Mick Harvey and soon to be found recorded performing with Jen Cloher on Milk! Records' Milk On Milk album.
Artistic Director, Viola and Saw player of the quartet Biddy Connor spoke with radionotes' John Murch.

With violin as their main instrument ORCHA has used a variety of sources to produce their own stylings of music. That are immersive, experimental and provide soundscapes that ease between acoustic and electronica sounds. As well, performed their work live in conjunction with One Fell Swoop Circus.
Latest Single from them is Depths, with an album on the way where they've worked with Producer James Cecil (Architecture In Helsinki). From their self-built Natural Habitat Studio ORCHA spoke to radionotes' John Murch ahead of the launch of their latest tune.
